The public is invited to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the San Francisco Model Yacht Club at Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park on Sunday, Sept. 16, starting at 9:30 a.m.

The anniversary celebration is part of the club’s biennial Model Boats on Parade festival, which features model boats of all kinds, including static boat displays, a boat parade and demonstrations on the lake. The family-friendly event is free to the public and features activities for adults and children; historic boat displays and posters explaining the history of various boats, the lake and the 1930s-era clubhouse. Several club members will don turn-of-the-century costumes and appear with period props for the public to take photos.
