A day at the museum

This photograph, circa 1900, shows four children standing in the Music Concourse located in front of the M.H. de Young Memorial Museum in Golden Gate Park. The museum and the surrounding area was developed for the 1894 Mid-winter Fair. The old museum was torn down and a new one, but it too was demolished to make room for the current de Young Museum, the third incarnation, which re-opened in 2005.
