Richmond Autumn Moon Festival Rises Again

One of the entertainers at the Richmond District Autumn Moon Festival wears a colorful outfit to help celebrate Chinese culture. The festival started more than 2,000 years ago as a post-autumn harvest celebration. The event returned to Clement Street, between Sixth and Ninth avenues, after switching to an online virtual event in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. District 1 Supervisor Connie Chan said in a statement: “It was great to see so many members of our community again and to see all of our city agencies, nonprofits, small businesses and residents come together. A huge thank you to our sponsor and neighborhood groups, the Richmond Neighborhood Center and Community Youth Center of San Francisco for making this event a reality.” Photo by Tyrone Bartoli.
