Historical Photo: Quintara’s Doomed Dune

This view is looking northwest on Quintara Street at Sunset Boulevard around 1940. This is believed to be what was referred to in the 1980s as “the doomed dune” because it was the last urban sand dune to survive in San Francisco, eventually replaced by the West Sunset Soccer Fields.
