Press Release: Buddha Relics Welcome the Start of the 2023 Lunar New Year

Buddha Relics Welcome 2023 Lunar New Year. Start the New Year with Unlimited Blessings from the Buddha

Bodhi Light International, Inc. (BLI) announces that The 10,000 Buddha Relics Collection will be on display from Saturday, Jan. 21 to Sunday, Jan. 29, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. daily. The exhibit will be open to the public. Admission is free. Meditation with the relics will be held 9-10 a.m. and 7-8 p.m. daily. The exhibit will be held at Dharma Treasure Temple, 3201 Ulloa St., San Francisco, CA 94116. Phone: 628-280-2720.

This unique collection had a preview showing in San Francisco last September during Labor Day weekend and the response was astounding. Close to 1,000 people came to the three-day event. It has been shown to the public twice a year since 2013 in Southern California where thousands have benefited from being in the presence of the Buddha’s relics. Because of donations, acquisitions and the miraculous characteristic that some Buddha relics multiply, BLI now has the opportunity to exhibit this collection in both Northern and Southern California temples.

Venerable XianJie (XJ) blesses a visitor with the Buddha’s relic.

The 10,000 Buddha Relics Collection includes the sacred bones of Shakyamuni Buddha and tens of thousands of brightly colored crystals found in his ashes after cremation. These relics, also known as shariras, will be on display along with relics of the Buddha’s family and closest disciples. That means, for nine days visitors will be able to be in the presence of the Buddha! Whether Buddhist or not, all those who are sincere will receive innumerable blessings. Many people experience powerful energy when meditating in their presence.

Special events to commemorate the Lunar New Year will be held on Sunday, Jan. 22, including the chanting ceremony at 9 a.m., followed by The Lion Dance, which will also be performed on the final day of the exhibit, Jan. 29. There will be special relic blessings throughout each day.
