Police Blotter: Sunset District

Robbery: Unit Block of Harding Road, Nov. 1, 7:29 a.m.

Park Station officers responded to a report of a robbery.

The victim said they were fishing on a dock when the suspect approached and pointed a firearm at them. The suspect then searched the victim’s pockets for valuables and took the victim’s cellphone before leaving the area.

Assault: 1200 Block of La Playa Street, Nov. 3, 3:08 p.m.

The victim, an employee, confronted the suspect who was attempting to leave the store with stolen merchandise. The suspect responded by throwing a cup of hot water at the victim, causing burns.

The suspect then fled the area.

Vandalism to Property: 2300 Block of 24th Avenue, Nov. 9, 1:08 p.m.

Officers responded to a nearby unrelated incident and observed a suspect who had entered and vandalized the front office area at Taraval Station the previous day. The officers detained the suspect.

After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Battery: Great Highway and Sloat Boulevard, Nov. 10, 4:06 p.m.

The victim said they were walking when the suspect approached them and started speaking gibberish. The victim asked the suspect to repeat what they had said. The suspect responded by throwing water at the victim.

Assault: 3200 Block of 20th Avenue, Dec. 12, 7:09 p.m.

The victim said they were sitting in the passenger seat of an unknown suspect’s vehicle when they got into a verbal altercation with the suspect.

The victim was gathering their property to exit the vehicle when the suspect hit the victim and caused a small laceration.

The suspect then left the scene in their vehicle which came in contact with the victim as they drove away.

Discharging a Firearm: 1600 Block of Lincoln Way, Dec. 12, 12:42 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of possible shots being fired and located shell casings in the area. A security video revealed the suspect was riding a scooter and shooting a firearm in the air.

Threats: 2300 Block of 19th Avenue, Dec. 12, 6:30 p.m.

The victim, a store employee, reported the suspect was trying to purchase cigarettes and became angry after being asked for ID. The suspect then brandished a knife and threatened to harm the victim.

Outstanding Warrant: 2300 Block of 24th Avenue, Nov. 13, 4:54 p.m.

The subject entered Taraval Station to file a report but did not have any identification with them.

A computer check, which was necessary to confirm the subject’s identity to file the report, revealed an outstanding arrest warrant out of San Mateo.

The subject was arrested.

Burglary, Hot Prowl, Unlawful Entry, Outstanding Warrant Arrest: Frederick and Stanyan Streets, Nov. 16, 1:43 a.m.

A Park Station officer was on patrol when he observed a subject meandering in the vicinity, then suddenly lost sight of the subject.

Believing the subject was engaging in the commission of a crime, the officer exited his vehicle and observed the suspect inside the store located on the 500 block of Frederick Street. Upon arrival of backup officers, the subject was arrested.

Through further investigation, officers located the owner of the laundromat who was inside an office on the premises at the time of the incident. The suspect was charged for hot prowl burglary.

The case was assigned to the Burglary Division.

Breaking Window, Outstanding Warrant: 800 Block of Lincoln Way, Nov. 17, 11:23 p.m.

The victim said they heard a loud noise outside and observed the suspect next to a newly broken window. The suspect then made eye contact with the victim before walking away. Multiple victims and witnesses also reported the suspect had been observed throwing rocks at numerous properties.

The suspect was located. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Brandishing a Weapon, Catalytic Converter Theft: 14th Avenue and Judah Street, Nov. 18, 5:28 a.m.

The victim was driving and observed the suspects stealing a catalytic converter.

As the victim came closer, one of the suspects held up a gun and gestured for the victim to keep driving.

Assault: 400 Block of Judah Street, Nov. 20, 2:01 p.m.

The victim, a Muni driver, said they had been sitting on a bench when the suspect walked up and struck the victim’s leg with a sharp object. The suspect then walked away.

Shoplifting with Force: 1500 Block of Sloat Boulevard, Nov. 21, 5:52 p.m.

Store employees reported the security alarm had gone off and alerted them someone was exiting the store without paying for merchandise.

A witness said the suspect was observed pushing a filled shopping cart out of the store.

While attempting to flee the area, the suspect rammed the cart into a nearby vehicle that was passing by.

The suspect then took the merchandise out of the cart, attempted to hit the employees who were trying to detain the suspect and fled the area.

Responding officers located the suspect. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Robbery: 2100 Block of 24th Avenue, Nov. 30, 2:17 p.m.

Two suspects brandished a knife and ordered the victims to give them their belongings before punching the victims and fleeing with the stolen property.
