Last Saturday morning at the Dog Training Area at 38th and Fulton I was standing outside my car, getting ready to close my car door, when I suddenly became aware of a dog pushing its nose into me. Before I could do anything it was sticking its head into my car. “Get out of here!” I yelled and then heard its owner calling it away.
“You need to control your dog,” I told the owner, “That dog is not trained.” “Hey, chill out,” a young guy with an expensive brand new SUV replied. “It’s 8:00 in the morning. He came and sniffed, no harm done.” No apology for the rude behaviour of his dog. I told him, “It’s not all right. You need to get that dog trained.”
He was rude. His dog was rude. I don’t know about you, but I don’t care to have a strange dog sticking his nose into me or my car. The parking lot is not an off-leash area. Most of the people who bring their dogs keep them on-leash until they are inside the gate. It’s the only considerate thing to do but it seems some owners have no consideration. Please show respect for the personal space of others.
