From the Editor: Your Voice

You’re holding another hefty issue this month. The October newspaper was 32 pages long – this month’s issue is 24 pages. That’s 56 pages of content supplied to you by our advertisers, donors and Patreon supporters. Please consider joining the sponsors to help support this neighborhood resource.

Our mission is comprehensive: We share news and feature stories about what’s happening in our community, columnists share their thoughts, advertisers let you know about services and products available in our area and we let you know what’s coming up each month. Special mention and thanks to cartoonist Paul and Jess the crossword puzzle maker who contibute their creativity.

This month, we are offering many more letters to the editor than usual. (Sorry for all the page jumps!) Since it is election season, I thought I’d give our readers a chance to tell their story and weigh in on current issues. All the letters printed here have been published on our website. Thank you to all who take the time to write.

I have also allowed exceptions to the length of the letters we published this month. Normally we limit the pieces to no more than 350 words in the paper, 500 online. Consider the election season the holiday season for opinions. Time to splurge.

The paper is also bigger because we have some new writers who have come forward and are adding their work to the local newspaper and website. It is important to me to encourage writers and I am so grateful to our talented contributors. Thank you all.
