Stop #1: Pick up Sushi at Hokkaido Sashimi Marketplace
Address: 5423 Geary Blvd.
Price: $-$$
Hours: Every day, 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Hokkaido Sashimi Marketplace has become my go-to for casual sushi. The fish marketplace is a local favorite. The fish is some of the freshest in the City, and it is the perfect spot for a meal on the go. The quality of fish versus the low price point is quite a deal for San Francisco! Inside the shop, you’ll find nigiri boxes, sashimi plates of fatty tuna, poke bowls and plenty of cut rolls – all under $20 each. For two, I recommend picking up a couple of boxes and a couple of miso soups. When checking out, make sure you peek and see if they still have the spam musubi in stock – it always goes fast!

In addition to the amazing sushi, they also have an assortment of Japanese snacks and drinks that you can pick up with your meal.

Stop #2: Picnic in the Park
Address: Golden Gate Park
Price: Free
After picking up your food, take a short stroll to one of the most picturesque spots in the country – Golden Gate Park. My go-to picnic spot in all of San Francisco is the grassy lawn in front of the Conservatory of Flowers. You’ll find plenty of yellow lawn chairs to pull together if you prefer a seat, or you can just stretch out on the grass and soak in the sunshine.
If you’re lucky, you might catch the sounds of a jazz concert drifting through the air as you enjoy your sushi and people-watch with your date. It’s the perfect place to relax, chat or simply savor your meal, whatever vibe you’re going for.

Rampant Bottle and Bar is a newer gem in the Richmond, but it has already become one of the area’s busiest hangouts – and for good reason. Launched in September 2024, Rampant Wine Co. was born from a passion project between two best friends, Charlie O’Leary and Jack Pain, who wanted to create a space where people could not only discover natural wines but also feel comfortable asking questions and learning about what they’re drinking. Their focus on natural wine and approachability makes the experience feel more like a conversation than a transaction.
“The name Rampant comes from vineyards that are rampant with vines, the better in terms of the health of the vines,” O’Leary said. “In natural wine, you see a lot of the iconic vineyards that started the natural wine movement have vines that are untrellised … in a hands-off approach, you see the vines grow more rampantly.”
Beyond the standout wine selection, it’s the inviting atmosphere that keeps locals returning. With both indoor and outdoor seating, Rampant is ideal for soaking up the sun on a San Francisco afternoon or settling in on a foggy evening. Paired with a warm, friendly staff, it’s a go-to spot in the Richmond.

A perfect time to go to Rampant for a date would be on Monday nights, where the bottles are all 25% off!

Stop #4: Nightcap at High Treason
Address: 443 Clement St.
Price: $$-$$$
Hours: Sunday-Wednesday, 4-10 p.m., Thursday-Saturday, 4-11 p.m.
After a glass (or two) at Rampant, head over to High Treason on Clement Street. The moody wine bar is the perfect spot to end your date night. Established in early 2016 by seasoned sommeliers John Vuong and Michael Ireland, veterans of esteemed establishments like Ame, Gary Danko, Quince and The Restaurant at Meadowood, High Treason was conceived as a relaxed alternative to the formal fine-dining scene.
The bar offers an extensive and eclectic selection of wines, beers, ciders and sakes, with a notable emphasis on natural and minimal-intervention wines. Its ambiance is casual and inviting, featuring high ceilings, skylights and a curated vinyl record collection that contributes to its laid-back vibe. Regular events, such as music-themed trivia nights and guest DJ appearances, are the perfect time to go. The bar has collaborated with pop-up kitchens, like Unco Frank’s, serving Hawaiian-inspired dishes such as crispy mochiko chicken and fried cod sandwiches.
