SEALEVEL GALLERY

Sunset Solos at Sealevel welcomes Scott Cohen for a special one-night performance. Sunset Solos, celebrated by KQED Arts as part of “One of the ten best plays and musicals in the Bay Area this summer,” is thrilled to present Scott Cohen in his captivating solo performance, “If It’s 7:30 in The Living Room, What Time Is It In The Kitchen?” This one-night-only event will take place on Sunday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at Sealevel. Amidst the closure of many small theaters in San Francisco, Sunset Solos advocates for thinking”outside the box” when workshopping solo performance pieces, challenging the notion that theater is confined to traditional venues.

About the Show: Eccentric grandparents played a significant role in Scott’s childhood development. In this unapologetically nostalgic piece, he revisits memories from days gone by in the form of two stories. The first focuses on the centrality of black and white television and his grandfather’s love of it, the second on his grandmother’s unconventional views regarding the relative nature of time. Although Scott thinks he is just a narrator telling funny stories from long ago, he discovers that the border separating the past from the present is not so clearly marked. About the performer: Scott Cohen is a storyteller and comedian, but only at night. By day, he is a mild mannered accountant and no one knows how funny he is. Sunday, June 15, 7 p.m., Sealevel Gallery, 4331 Irving St. Tickets and Information available at sealevelsf.com/pages/events.

SUNSET MERCANTILE’S EMPORIUM

Sunset Mercantile’s first brick and mortar location is an incubating platform for local merchants and makers. Located in the heart of the Inner Sunset, Sunset Mercantile’s Emporium is an extension of its popular outdoor events. It serves as a platform for small vendors and makers to showcase and sell their unique, often handmade, products. You can find an array of items, from an in-store plant shop, to handmade bags, vintage fashion, to grab-and-go artisanal snacks. The store also hosts workshops and seasonal events for the community such as the Inner Sunset Art Walk, Holiday Light Stroll and Noise Pop’s Summer of Music. The Emporium would like to extend an invitation to local merchants and makers to be a part of this special new retail space. This is an opportunity for vendors to create their own mini shop within the store. For more information about Emporium and how to apply, visit sunsetmercantilesf.com/emporium/.
