From Community Youth Center of San Francisco:

2025 Heart of the Richmond District Night Market Kicks Off with Family Fun and Community Celebration

The 2025 Heart of the Richmond District Night Market officially kicks off this Saturday, June 21, from 4 to 8 p.m., transforming Clement Street between 22nd and 25th avenues into a bustling outdoor marketplace and block party. Now in its second year, the Night Market continues to highlight the Richmond District’s rich culture, community spirit and small business vibrancy.

“Every one of the 11 night markets supported by the Civic Joy Fund reflects the unique spirit of its neighborhood, and the Richmond Night Market is no exception,” said Manny Yekutiel, co-founder and executive director of the Civic Joy Fund. “This is a family-friendly event that uplifts the incredible small businesses and community organizations that make Clement Street so special – capturing the heart of the Richmond. I hope San Franciscans from across the City come out to support the neighborhood and have a little fun while they’re at it, all the way through September.”

This free, family-friendly event series will run every third Saturday from June through September, with upcoming markets on July 19, Aug. 16, and Sept. 20.

“The Heart of the Richmond Night Market is one of the best new traditions for our neighborhood,” added District 1 Supervisor Connie Chan. “Our June market kicks off with special events for kids and families to enjoy summer in our City. I can’t wait to see you all there!”

Tomorrow’s summer kickoff event features over 60 booths including:

  • Local small businesses and artisans
  • Food and beverage vendors
  • Nonprofit and community resource tables
  • Art and activity stations for all ages

In addition, there will be mahjong hosted by the Richmond Senior Center and games across the street provided by CYC.

A centerpiece of the evening is the Family Zone, sponsored by the San Francisco Department of Early Childhood, and co-organized by Gum Moon/Asian Family Support Center and the Sunset Family Resource Center Collaborative. This dedicated space for young children and caregivers includes:

  • LEGO building tables
  • Arts & crafts stations
  • Bubble machines and stomp rockets
  • A sensory table and sand play zone
  • Hula hoop toss, giant connect four, and spin-the-wheel prizes
  • Temporary tattoo booth
  • Free giveaways and swag bags (while supplies last)

“We are participating in the Heart of the Richmond Night Market because our local businesses – especially along Geary Boulevard – have endured a tough few years,” said Sean Kim, vice president of the Geary Boulevard Merchants Association. “This event is an opportunity to bring foot traffic, joy and economic support back to our neighborhood.”

“The Clement Street Merchants Association is proud to partner with the Heart of the Richmond District Night Market committee,” said Nico Schwieterman, representing the Clement Street Merchants Association. “We’re thrilled to showcase local artists, makers and small businesses from the Richmond District, our favorite neighborhood in the City, and we look forward to connecting with even more of our neighbors in the community.”

Live performances and entertainment will energize the crowd throughout the evening, featuring a lineup of cultural acts, music by local DJs, and surprise performances by community members along the market route. Visitors can also enjoy a curated short film screening inside the 4 Star Theater and take part in interactive games hosted by neighborhood organizations.
