Poetry: Nancy Jong

Climate

United States climate change
Warm California sun
San Francisco summer winter’s day

Coveland

Leave me in a field of grass
I couldn’t care less
About anything or any troubles
Any issues or burst bubbles
It gets warmer before it gets cold
As night time begins to unfold
Jungle noises take over birds’ calls
As the evening dusk falls

Beach Time

Shoes off
Sunscreen on
Sitting on the sand
Soaking in the sun
Mind at ease
Like dream state sleep
Hair blowing in the wind
Like water flowing in the ocean
