Battery: 1300 Block of 19th Avenue, Feb. 2, 11:51 a.m.
The victim told officers he was a transient and was sitting in the area when a known suspect approached him and asked for money. The victim stated he did not have any, and the suspect began to punch him and brandished a firearm.
The suspect left the area.
Burglary: 2200 Block of 33rd Avenue, Feb. 3, 4:08 a.m.
Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home that was under renovation.
The victim was observing the incident through his security camera.
Officers located and detained the two suspects.
After further investigation, they were arrested.
Assault: 2200 Block of 14th Avenue, Feb. 6, 4 p.m.
A victim came to Taraval Station to report an assault.
The victim told officers a suspect approached her at school and challenged her to a fight. The suspect started punching the victim numerous times in the face and head.
Robbery: 19th Avenue and Quintara Street, Feb. 6, 11:30 a.m.
A victim told officers he had a free period and was going to the mall when five suspects surrounded him, reached into his pocket, and took his cell phone. The suspect pushed him and fled.
The victim recognized one of the suspects as someone from his school.
Robbery: 38th Avenue and Noriega Street, Feb. 10, 12:17 p.m.
A victim went to Taraval Station to report a theft.
The victim was standing in front of a building when a vehicle drove up. The suspect urged the victim to approach him and asked for directions. The suspect then shoved gold-colored jewelry and coins into the victim’s hands.
The victim walked away and later realized his necklace and pendant were gone.
Robbery: 2400 Block of Irving Street, Feb. 10, 3:59 p.m.
A victim exited a building when the suspect approached him. The suspect offered the victim free gold-colored chains, but the victim refused. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s necklace and ripped it from his neck.
The victim chased after the suspect but fell, causing injuries.
The suspect got into a waiting vehicle and fled the scene.
Burglary, Possession of a Firearm: 46th Avenue and Judah Street, Feb. 11, 2:52 a.m.
On Jan. 21, a residence was burglarized. A surveillance camera captured the suspects involved in the incident.
A sergeant reviewed the case and the surveillance footage and was able to identify one of the suspects as a prolific burglar who is currently on probation for burglary and subject to a warrantless search condition.
On Feb. 11, the sergeant was in the area and observed the suspect sitting inside a vehicle parked on a corner. The suspect was detained, and a search of the suspect and his vehicle resulted in the discovery of a loaded shotgun and additional evidence.
The suspect was arrested.
Reckless Driving, Traffic Violation: Taraval Street and 32nd Avenue, Feb. 14, 1:41 a.m.
Officers were on patrol when they saw a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed passing them. The officers made a U-turn and observed the vehicle running numerous stop signs. At one point the suspect stopped then sped off again.
The suspect finally stopped his vehicle and was detained by the officer.
The suspect initially gave the officer a false identification card but provided a correct one.
The juvenile driver was cited.
Battery, Vandalism: 1200 Block of 20th Avenue, Feb. 18, 2:47 p.m.
A victim told officers that he was at the location for maintenance work. The victim approached the front door, and the suspect confronted him and became irate. The suspect threw something at the victim, hitting him in the face, and vandalized his vehicle before leaving the area.
Vehicle Collision With Injuries, Hit and Run: 19th Avenue and Santiago Street, Feb. 18, 2:36 p.m.
On Feb. 8, a vehicle collided with two victims at the intersection of Irving Street and 19th Avenue and fled the scene.
A sergeant identified the suspect, who was on probation for narcotics offenses and illegal possession of ammunition.
On Feb. 18, the Fugitive Recovery Enforcement Team conducted surveillance and located the suspect.
The suspect was later arrested.
Outstanding Warrant: Noriega Street and 46th Avenue, Feb. 22, 1:14 a.m.
A sergeant was on patrol when he observed a subject at the corner of an intersection. The sergeant conducted a casual encounter with the subject who willingly provided his information.
A computer check revealed the subject had a warrant for his arrest.
The subject was arrested.
Battery: 19th Avenue and Quintara Street, Feb. 24, 1:28 p.m.
The victim was sitting in a Muni vehicle when a suspect walked toward her. The suspect pretended to punch the passenger sitting next to her but stopped short.
The suspect then turned his attention to the victim and hit her in the face.
The suspect left the bus.
Shoplifting, Outstanding Warrant, Resisting Arrest: 700 Block of Taraval Street, Feb. 26, 4:14 p.m.
A witness, an employee, was notified of a fight and observed the suspect leaving the store without paying for merchandise.
Officers detained the suspect.
The victim told officers he had been in an argument with the suspect inside the store, during which the suspect pushed him. The suspect also had a warrant for his arrest.
At the station, the suspect attempted to kick one of the officers and made multiple verbal threats of violence.
The suspect was arrested on additional charges.
