Outer Taraval Community Demands Answers from SFMTA re: L-Line Project
Outer Taraval merchants between 46thand 47th avenues sent a letter to San Francisco Mayor London Breed and San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Board members, requesting that the SFMTA provide alternative solutions to staging, provide a traffic study, provide more information about the impact of construction on local businesses and a commitment from SFMTA To receive regular updates during construction.
Muni Maintenance Starts Aug. 12 – Subway Closures
Starting August 12 and continuing for approximately two weeks, the subway between Embarcadero and West Portal will close early at 9:30 p.m. When the subway closes early, buses will run above ground to connect all stops, beginning at 9:30 p.m. through the normal end of train service at 1 a.m.

Tartine Bakery’s Newest Location Opens in the Inner Sunset District
Tartine Bakery recently opened a new location in the Inner Sunset, near Ninth Avenue and Irving Street.
The San Francisco-founded, James Beard award-winning eatery began 17 years ago in the Mission District as a place for bakers to “bring bread with an old soul into the lives of our friends in California,” according to the shop’s website.

Historical Photo – Welcome to ‘Rabbitville’
Just east of the Children’s Playground carousel in Golden Gate Park stands a red-and-white painted barn built in 1943 as part of a small petting zoo with a barnyard theme. The zoo once had a goat, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, sheep and, as seen above in 1948, a “Rabbitville” with a fire station, hotel and school.
