This was the main gate to an amusement area that became known as Playland at the Beach, where visitors could get sweet waffles (a favorite treat) before enjoying popular attractions such as the Aeroplane Swing and Ferris wheel, visible in the distance.

St. Ignatius Wildcats Win CCS Section 3 Basketball Championship
San Francisco’s St. Ignatius Wildcats won the Division 3championship in the Central Coast Section basketball tournament. The team defeated the Sacred Heart Academy Fighting Irish 70-66 at Sequoia High School in Redwood City on Feb 29, 2020.
