Parents planning summer activities got an opportunity to directly connect with more than 20 organizations at the Richmond Recreation Center last month thanks to a new program organized by the City’s Department of Children, Youth and Their Families (DCYF).
“It’s a place where older people can enjoy an inexpensive and safe Friday evening and enjoy the company of others,” says Lisa Brinkmann, the San Francisco chapter’s president.

SYS is an organization that provides students with job training and
social work services.
The Sunset Heights Association of Responsible People (SHARP) believes strongly in
supporting the community. For the past four years, SHARP has given out grants to local
organizations serving the neighborhood and the City. This year 17 groups
received grants.
Residents who live on 32nd Avenue between Lawton and Moraga streets look
out for each other. They have a Neighborhood Watch Group, and on a recent
gorgeous day in the Sunset, they gathered for a “Neighborfest” block party.
