Supporters point to his so-called accomplishments – night markets, restoring Algebra to middle school – but these boutique wins serve only a narrow slice of District 4. What benefits everyone? Reliable transportation.

Campaign finance laws exist for a reason: to ensure transparency, accountability, and fairness in our elections. But the recall campaign against Supervisor Joel Engardio has seemingly failed to follow basic financial disclosure rules – raising serious ethical and legal concerns.
Supervisor Engardio did not lie to us nor try to “sneak” Prop. K on the ballot. During his 2022 campaign, I asked him about his position on the Upper Great Highway. He supported the temporary weekend closure as the best option, versus Prop. I’s 24/7 reopening.
Our local Reliable Rexall Sunset Pharmacy, 801 Irving St., is in dire need and may be about to close. The Inner Sunset might lose our pharmacy this week.
Don’t you think you had better slow down ramming this park idea down our throats and what artwork should be commissioned?
From the very beginning, Joel has been open and honest with his constituents – both about the inevitable closure of the Great Highway, but also his support for a permanent park. Just because some people don’t like the outcome doesn’t mean we should recall an effective supervisor.
I oppose the recall, not just because it is a waste of taxpayer dollars, but because Supervisor Joel Engardio has done a tremendous job on the Board of Supervisors. He deserves to finish out his term, because he has been delivering results and improving our lives since day one.

District 4 Supervisor Joel Engardio played a significant role in creating this battle between the working class and the laptop elite. It is time for the working people of D4 to have their own working-class revolt by signing the petition to recall Engardio.
Have there been any events where Joel welcomed diverse perspectives and listened to all sides of the issue? Or is he just relying on PR stunts to create the illusion of engagement?
