Press Release: Alexandria Theater Housing Development Reaches Milestone

Today, Supervisor Connie Chan announced the initial agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), was signed jointly by TimeSpace Alexandria, LLC and the Office of Workforce and Economic Development. Supervisor Chan has long been advocating for the site, located at 5400 Geary Blvd. in the Richmond District, to be developed into housing while preserving the history of the theater.

A ribbon-cutting marked the completion of the project’s first phase, which added improvements such as a National Fitness Campaign fitness court with exercise equipment; two new picnic tables and benches; new ADA parking at the John Muir Drive lot; new signage along the asphalt trails; and landscaping upgrades including tree maintenance and new tree plantings.
