The Sunset District art community grieves the loss of Douglas Gorney, who died of a heart attack on Nov. 19. Gorney, a native San Franciscan, was 63 years old and lived in the Sunset the last decade of his life.
“The B0ardside” (with a zero instead of the letter “o”) is a quarterly magazine produced entirely by local Sunset District and westside artists. The creators describes the zine as “Art and Culture from the Edge of the World.”

One of the special aspects about the Sunset District that artist Douglas Gorney appreciates most is “the ocean light,” especially during the autumn and the city’s “Indian summer.”
