For the coffee shop owners, brothers Dennis and Dan Lee, and their family, the Pixlcat is rooted in a much longer relationship with the neighborhood. They have been a presence in the neighborhood since the opening of Namu on Balboa Street in 2006 and earlier years spent in Golden Gate Park experimenting with creative, accessible street food.
Many here in the Richmond District have started to notice the recent uptick in the hustle and bustle of Clement Street – the brand-new shops and dining options that are drawing in San Franciscans from all over the City.
The holiday season can be a wonderful time to give back to the community. As the end of the year rolls around, here are some of my reccomendations for organizations on the west side to volunteer with or donate to.
