Conservatory stays lit
Due to popular demand, the SF Recreation and Park Department is extending the
popular illumination of the historic Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park
through Nov. 26.
GG Park getting new restroom
The SF Recreation and Park Department is about to start construction on a new free-
standing restroom at Golden Gate Park’s Boat Playground, which is located near 45th
Avenue and Lincoln Way.
Final plan for Eighth Avenue presented to public
The SF Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) presented to the public on Oct. 18 its
final plan to ease traffic on Eighth Avenue, between Lake and Fulton streets in the Inner
Richmond District.

San Francisco Lawn Bowling Club’s 2017 Centennial Cup on Aug. 26.
GG Park traffic calming OK’d; 30th Ave. changing
The SF County Transportation Authority (SFCTA), which is comprised of all 11 members
of the SF Board of Supervisors, allocated $580,926 in half-cent sales tax funds in July to
the SF Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) for traffic calming measures in
Golden Gate Park.

Arson Suspected in Playground Fire
A fire, suspected of being arson, destroyed a major portion of the playground at the Koret Childrens’ Playground in Golden Gate Park.

The 75th annual Mother’s Day Rose Show, sponsored by the SF Rose Society, was held at the Hall of Flowers in Golden Gate Park on May 14. The show featured a diverse array of roses, some of which were chosen best in their category.
