From the very beginning, Joel has been open and honest with his constituents – both about the inevitable closure of the Great Highway, but also his support for a permanent park. Just because some people don’t like the outcome doesn’t mean we should recall an effective supervisor.
I oppose the recall, not just because it is a waste of taxpayer dollars, but because Supervisor Joel Engardio has done a tremendous job on the Board of Supervisors. He deserves to finish out his term, because he has been delivering results and improving our lives since day one.
District 4 Supervisor Joel Engardio played a significant role in creating this battle between the working class and the laptop elite. It is time for the working people of D4 to have their own working-class revolt by signing the petition to recall Engardio.
Have there been any events where Joel welcomed diverse perspectives and listened to all sides of the issue? Or is he just relying on PR stunts to create the illusion of engagement?
I believe that the current supervisor in the Sunset has performed his duties with malfeasance.
Joel Engardio has earned the right to serve out his term, and I am proud to support him. I encourage my neighbors to reject this recall and let him keep doing the great work we elected him to do.
Regarding the proposed once 50-story but now 22-story high-rise at 2700 Sloat Blvd. that is strongly objected to by residents in District 4 for being out of character for the neighborhood, among other things, one wonders why a developer would build it right next to The Westerly, a structure 25% smaller that has been mostly vacant since it was built.
This recall is not “just one issue.” It’s Joel’s active decision to elevate voices and interests of people who don’t live in D4 over people who do.
We have all heard about online scams and the need to be wary. But did you know that residents in the Sunset District and our western neighborhoods lost more than $7 million from scams last year?
It’s deeply concerning that our elected supervisor, Joel Engardio, has remained silent on a number of serious issues facing our community. From incidents of intimidation against petition signature gatherers to a recent shooting in our district, Engardio’s silence speaks volumes about his priorities as a leader.
Voters elected Joel to bring balance, accountability, and a results-driven approach to City Hall. He has delivered on that promise over and over again.
The claims in the letter are a hodgepodge of conclusions without a shred of evidence.
Voters who are unhappy with his decisions will have the opportunity to express their belief at the ballot box in the regularly scheduled 2026 election. This seems to me the better way to go.
