On Friday, Sept. 27, the last Sunset Night Market of 2024 will take place on Irving Street with a new entertainment lineup, all-ages carnival games fun zones and special durian-eating contest on the main stage, 5-10 p.m. on Irving Street from 19th to 26th avenues.

This November, San Franciscans will decide whether a section of the Upper Great Highway becomes an oceanside park or remains a road for cars. It’s important to note we’re only talking about the section between Lincoln Way and Sloat Boulevard, which does not have any on or off ramps for cars.
Engardio’s initiative to close the UGH will go before a citywide electorate, where the bicycle coalition, Walk SF and other anti-vehicle regressive organizations will harp the benefits of a great oceanside park. It will be a tough for Sunset residents to get the word out with less than three months to go before votes start rolling in.

Maybe my math is wrong, but if you take the $646 million currently spent yearly on this issue and divide it by the number of homeless in SF (7,745 – source SF Chronicle, Jan. 31, 2024) you get a figure of just over $83,000 per homeless person.

Once you build an ADU, your SFR is now a two-family dwelling or “multiunit” property. All the ADUs are now legal units. Not only will your property be re-appraised at a significant increase in value with an increase in property tax, but the Rent Board will now resume operation of your new unit(s) as well as your old unit.
