A “master plan” released by the San Francisco Department of Public Works (DPW) will include improvements like a new recycled water irrigation system, removal of hazardous trees, adding wild flowers and drought-tolerant plants and repairing the sidewalks.
After $1.2 million was spent landscaping the median strip running down the center of Sunset Boulevard to make it less needy of water, looking at it block-by-block, tall grass and weeds on many of the sections are taking over the succulents that were planted.
On Oct. 25, at the second of three meetings hosted by District 1 Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer at the Richmond Recreation Center, ideas for sprucing up that long stretch of grass and trees between Fulton and Lake streets were voted upon by more than a dozen people who live around the area.
