I’m not anti-music. I’m anti-making two residential districts bear the cost of parties we didn’t ask for. The City should move these festivals downtown, where the energy and the business are needed most.
If RR/SB readers received a mailed postcard notice for the 9/11/2025 Planning Commission public hearing about the S.F. Family Zoning Plan, they are owner, resident or business tenant of property adjacent to the proposed rezoning area, or interested parties on record with the Planning Department.
Engardio misled voters to push his agenda. He’s now misrepresenting facts again to fight his recall. We can no longer trust our Supervisor.
My purpose with this letter is to make people, especially voters, aware of the damage Engardio has caused to the Sunset District that he was SUPPOSED to be looking out for.
I understand people are unhappy with Sunset Dunes but attacking supporters verbally and on social media has gone far beyond civil discourse.
Thanks to a voter-approved initiative, Sunset Dunes has transformed into an inviting area for pedestrians and cyclists. As someone who has often hesitated to ride a bike in the City, I found this car-free zone empowering.
City officials and agencies like SFMTA say westside traffic isn’t worse and that the data proves it. But when you dismiss the people living the experience, such data stops mattering.
District 4 deserves a strong, responsive leader who represents the interests of its residents, not tech billionaires or real estate developers. We urge you to join us in voting “yes” on the recall.
On the evening of Sunday, July 13, I discovered I had been blocked by my own supervisor, Joel Engardio, on both Twitter and Facebook.
It’s frustrating that Supervisor Engardio keeps claiming to be mitigating Chain of Lakes congestion caused by the Upper Great Highway closure by replacing the stop sign at Chain of Lakes/Lincoln Way/41st Avenue with a traffic signal. In reality, at least for drivers using Chain of Lakes, it has made things worse ….
Let’s be clear: Joel Engardio did not lead the fight to bring Algebra back. He did not start the movement. He joined after being persuaded by community advocates, including SF Guardians, who did the groundwork.
This isn’t a letter about the recall. It is to set the record straight about Algebra I in eighth grade and Supervisor Joel Engardio’s odd claim he brought it back.

Agenda item #3 was: ‘State of Small Businesses’ Discussion when the Commission heard brief presentations from San Francisco merchant groups on the challenges, priorities, and opportunities in their corridors.

The housing crisis is fabricated. Developers, construction firms and real estate moguls are often the top donors to our politicians. In 1950 the City’s population was 775,000. Today it is 810,000, all while the housing stock has nearly doubled in that timeframe.
