Press Release: SFPD Arrests Driver for Fatal Vehicle Collision at West Portal

On March 16, at approximately 12:13 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the area of Ulloa Street and Lenox Way for a solo vehicle collision that crashed into pedestrians at a bus stop at the intersection of Ulloa Street and Lenox Way. On July 2, at approximately 5:15 p.m., TCIU Investigators located Lau at a residence on the 200 block of Crestlake Drive and placed her into custody for the arrest warrant.

Press Release: Taraval Improvement Project Update

The most disruptive work is nearly complete. Work to replace sewer, water, rail lines, streetbase and repaving the entire corridor has been completed. Construction continues with installing boarding islands with accessible curb ramps, handrails and pavers and landscaping. Curve track replacement work at 46th Avenue is expected to be completed June 7, 2024. Remaining work includes testing trains along the new trackway, and installing boarding islands, landscaping, trees and artwork. 

Press Release: Proposed Reservation Fees May Be Required at Some Tennis, Pickleball Locations

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Commission unanimously passed a $5 reservation fee at select tennis and pickleball locations to streamline court management. The proposal needs approval by the SF Board of Supervisors. Nearly 60% of locations will remain walk-up. The initiative aims to ensure fair access and discourage overbooking.

Press Release: Alexandria Theater Housing Development Reaches Milestone

Today, Supervisor Connie Chan announced the initial agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), was signed jointly by TimeSpace Alexandria, LLC and the Office of Workforce and Economic Development. Supervisor Chan has long been advocating for the site, located at 5400 Geary Blvd. in the Richmond District, to be developed into housing while preserving the history of the theater.
