At his swearing-in ceremony on Dec. 1, newly appointed San Francisco District 4 Supervisor Alan Wong said he will wait to hear from community stakeholders before committing to a policy decision on the future of the Upper Great Highway.
What a mess Edgardo left this district. Mayor Lurie is trying, and I believe doing a great job: consistently bringing new businesses and supporting existing ones, supporting the working-class, blue-collar workers. It is not easy considering the idiocy of the state legislature (Wiener). We will see how the new Sunset District supervisor appointee fairs. At least he’s a native.
Joel Engardio repeatedly claims that he shouldn’t be recalled over a single issue – the deceitful way he secretly placed the Prop K closure of the Upper Great Highway on the Nov. 2024 ballot against the wishes of his constituents. The recall is about HIM, and his lack the character and integrity.
There were no town halls, no real dialogue, only expedited changes pushed through without input.
We need to send a message to these radical idealogues: You can’t deny our voice with your political machinations. Removing Mr. Engardio is the opening salvo in a war with these groups who won’t compromise.
San Franciscans have been abuzz these last several months over the controversial permanent closure of a section of the west side’s Upper Great Highway. Enough so, that a recall effort has launched against District 4 Supervisor Joel Engardio for his role. But from the looks of it, average residents see little evidence a recall is being undertaken.
