City officials have treated taxpayers’ dollars as their own slush funds, distributing public works contracts to cronies and other corrupt persons, disregarding solemn ethical duties to use public resources for San Francisco residents and taxpayer needs pursuant to a clear and creditable public process.
As a parent of two children in public schools, I worry students are falling behind in their studies as we continue relying solely on remote learning. Additionally, the longer they don’t see their friends and teachers in person, the more social isolation will impact development and emotional intelligence.

It’s 2021! As I leave office officially on Jan. 8, I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate all we have accomplished together.
Every year from mid-January through March, the San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park puts on a show. Or rather, its magnolia trees do. From eye level to 80 feet in the air, blossoms ranging from white to deep fuchsia can be found in every corner of the Garden.
A Whole Foods store’s move into the City Center at Masonic Avenue and Geary Boulevard is now on hold after the San Francisco Board of Supervisors reversed a decision by the SF Planning Department to exempt the project from an environmental review.
The Cliff House, one of San Francisco’s iconic and enduring landmarks and eateries, closed on Dec. 31.
