In June, we officially launched the One Richmond initiative with a community kickoff party at Argonne Elementary School. The launch was a huge success and an amazing showcase of the four components of One Richmond: we’re inclusive; we take care of each other; we take care of the Richmond; and, we shop and eat locally.
Almost every Californian, drivers and non-drivers alike, has to interact with our Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). And we all have heard or experienced horror stories about long waits at the DMV office.
At a community meeting held in June at the San Francisco County Fair Building, representatives from the San Francisco Department of Public Works (DPW) presented two concepts for revamping the intersection, along with plans to add a block of Ninth Avenue, between Lincoln Way and Irving Street, into the project.

The GBRT would strip Geary Boulevard of its traffic islands and trees and replace them with long stretches of bus-only lanes, painted red, along much of the major transit artery for the Richmond. An average of 52,000 passengers use the #38-Geary bus line daily.
