Pea shoots contain many important nutrients, such as protein, vitamins A, B1, B5, B9, C, folate and E, as well as potassium and phosphorous – some in remarkable quantities. A serving of 100 grams of pea shoots can provide 4 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, 280 micrograms of vitamin K, 79 milligrams of vitamin C and 340 micrograms of vitamin A.

What I’d appreciate hearing from my supervisor is a definition of what constitutes a ‘crosswalk’ as pertains to the parking restriction law, and will his office do anything to speed-up the process for marking those crosswalks that will have motorists ticketed?

The single-family home prices in the Richmond District stabilized and rose after two years of decline with median prices increasing by 5.9% and the number of sales by 17.8% in 2024. Prices were pretty stable throughout the year as the Feds kept the interest rates steady, except for two quarter-point decreases later in the year. The Richmond Home Sales Comparison table shows the results in 2024 as compared with prior years, broken up by quarters.

In 1969, there was a hit song by Zager and Evans (who?) called “In the Year 2525.” As they counted up the years starting at 2525, the lyrics painted a rather bleak picture of a dystopian destiny for mankind.
Happy 2025, everyone! I am immensely proud of the work we did together for the last four years, advancing policies to make San Francisco and the Richmond District work for all of us. This could not have been done without the amazing District 1 team.

It’s a New Year and you can count the herculean resolutions of all San Franciscans from Mayor-Elect Daniel Lurie to your humble but not always pleasing scribe. Remember that a New Year’s resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other!
Originally, the very limited edition of artist Henri Matisse’s 1947 book of prints was going to be called, “Circus,” because the inspiration for several motifs concerned performing artists and balancing acts. However, during the two-year period of creating 20 color stencil prints (pochoirs), the title changed to “Jazz,” at the suggestion of Greek art publisher Tériade.
