If you are unfamiliar with Avenue 12 Gallery, it’s a gem of a space located at the corner of 12thAvenue and Lake Street in the Richmond District, across the street from Mountain Lake Park. Formerly a convenience store, the light-filled storefront was converted into a showroom for Japanese furniture and artifacts under the name TableAsia in 2005.
Richmond Author Publishes Her Sixth Book: ‘Flowers for Jenny’
Longtime Richmond District resident Linda Lewin wrote a children’s story titled Flowers For Jenny. The story was illustrated by Sudesha Shrestha and is the sixth book written by Lewin.
Richmond Neighborhood Center’s Giants Game Community Watch Party
San Francisco Giants’ mascot, Lou Seal, was the guest of honor at the community watch party at the Richmond Neighborhood Center on Sunday, July 28. A broadcast of the game played on two big screen televisions under a big tent. Games, prizes, BBQ and photo opportunities with Lou Seal were all part of a community pride celebration.

The second annual One Richmond Community Party took place on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the Argonne Elementary School at 18th Avenue and Cabrillo Street.
History of the Muriel Leff Mini-Park in the Richmond District
Creation of this small park at 420 Seventh Ave. in the Richmond District was before the era of the official mini-park, a federally subsidized program initiated in San Francisco in 1968, and creating it was a complicated business as it was a public-private project, a virtually unknown notion at the time but common today.
