San Francisco Police Department Releases Video to Raise Awareness About Blessing Scams
To help reduce retail thefts and to hold people who commit these crimes accountable, San Francisco Police officers assigned to Taraval Station pre-planned shoplifting and retail theft abatement enforcement operations to address Organized Retail Crimes (ORC).
On Sept. 17 at 9:39 p.m., SFPD citywide plainclothes officers were deployed to a robbery/ burglary abatement operation when dispatch broadcast a burglary in progress at a business on the 1600 block of Balboa Street in the Richmond District.
On March 16, at approximately 12:13 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the area of Ulloa Street and Lenox Way for a solo vehicle collision that crashed into pedestrians at a bus stop at the intersection of Ulloa Street and Lenox Way. On July 2, at approximately 5:15 p.m., TCIU Investigators located Lau at a residence on the 200 block of Crestlake Drive and placed her into custody for the arrest warrant.
Redirected traffic provides no direct access between Great Highway and Judah Street.
On May 14, at approximately 10:34 a.m., San Francisco Police officers from Richmond Station received a call of a robbery that occurred in the area of Balboa Street and 26th Avenue. During the robbery, the female victim was approached by two unknown males who forced her to the ground and stole her property.
Through the course of the investigation, The SFPD Traffic Collision Investigations Unit developed probable cause to book the driver, Lau, for three counts of felony vehicular manslaughter, felony reckless driving causing bodily injury and additional traffic violations.
As someone who has done a deep dive into the San Francisco Police Commission, our citywide staffing shortage and funding obstacles, I urge all San Franciscans who care about public safety to understand Prop. B and vote “No.” In it’s current form, it is a misleading and purposefully destructive measure.
