When people’s lives are made more difficult they get upset. When a parent sees their child is not getting access to classes they need, attend schools across the City but then the roads are closed and they are dismissed with, “Hey, ride a bike, take Muni, walk!” they become frustrated.
As one of the plaintiffs who sued SFUSD to bring Algebra back, I feel compelled to speak out because I can’t stand by while people erase the truth. That truth is this: Supervisor Joel Engardio played a critical role in finally pushing the district to act after years of delay.
Let’s be clear: Joel Engardio did not lead the fight to bring Algebra back. He did not start the movement. He joined after being persuaded by community advocates, including SF Guardians, who did the groundwork.
We’re at a critical moment, and we can’t afford more mismanagement. With your vote, I’ll bring fiscal discipline, a focus on student achievement, and a commitment to better serve our diverse communities.

When I started my campaign three months ago, I was told that the school board race is down ballot and not many people will care or take the time to vote. I believe that this would be a mistake; the school board election this November is critical, and we cannot afford to get it wrong.

We have elections, people elected these three members and now we have a group of millionaires funding this recall. Just like the money the State wasted on a recall of Gov. Gavin Newsom by another group of Republican millionaires.
Their efforts are anti-democratic and force our local government to spend funds on elections instead of, say, fighting addiction or Muni.
While I neither voted for nor supported the three individuals up for recall, and while I strongly disagree with many of their positions — such as spending a million dollars to paint over a WPA socially critical historical fresco painted by an Ashkenazic immigrant — they do not deserve recall. This is a misguided effort.
