You see tent encampments growing all over the Bay Area, and there are more and more people living in their cars or RVs. Homelessness persists in California because we have not built enough housing to keep pace with job growth. That has resulted in a shortage that drives up the cost of existing housing.
According to recent surveys, the number one concern San Francisco residents have is the high cost of housing. For the first time, housing beat out previous issues such as homelessness, Muni, potholes and unemployment. But what can we do about it?

Our organizations, based in the Sunset (D4ward) and Richmond (Richmond District Rising) neighborhoods of San Francisco, support the production of more housing in our community that is affordable, ensures stability for existing residents and maintains diversity in our neighborhoods.

Residents and visitors of the Inner Sunset District can’t miss the coral-painted Romanesque steeples of St. Anne of the Sunset Catholic Church on 14th Avenue, between Irving and Judah streets. Adjacent to it, with its huge parking lot, is St. Anne School, which will celebrate its 100-year anniversary in February.
