Matisse’s ‘Jazz Unbound’ Prints on Display at de Young
Originally, the very limited edition of artist Henri Matisse’s 1947 book of prints was going to be called, “Circus,” because the inspiration for several motifs concerned performing artists and balancing acts. However, during the two-year period of creating 20 color stencil prints (pochoirs), the title changed to “Jazz,” at the suggestion of Greek art publisher Tériade.
RV Parking Remains a Contentious Housing Issue
The latest development in the City’s ongoing struggle to deal with people living in recreational vehicles (RVs) is the San Francisco Board of Supervisors’ rejection of Mayor London Breed’s revived policy for towing these rolling shelters away.

This year, it finally happened. The “at Strybing Arboretum” was removed from all “San Francisco Botanical Garden” signage. With this move, acknowledgement of Helene Strybing’s legacy vanished from public view. The current acreage bears less and less resemblance to what it was during its glory.
