Battery:

May 27, 1:35 p.m., 1000 Block of Quintara Street

Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim reported that the suspect,

while inside a vehicle, had been randomly throwing glass marbles at the store before

speeding away. Battery was reported when someone was hit with a marble.

Robbery:

May 26, 2:25 p.m., 14th Avenue and Taraval Street

The victim told officers that she was sitting on a streetcar when the suspect attempted to

grab her cell phone out of her hand before running off the train empty handed.

Search warrant, Burglary:

May 23, 10:51 a.m., address withheld

After an investigation, police officers identified a suspect involved in a rash of burglaries

and obtained a search warrant. The teams served the warrant and located evidence

related to the burglaries, but the suspect was not present. The team, however,

made contact with the suspect’s mother, who brought the suspect in to Taraval Station.

After further investigation, the suspect was arrested for being involved in

four different burglaries.

Robbery, Threats, outstanding warrant:

May 20, 5:58 p.m., Funston Avenue and Lincoln Way

Officers responded to a report of three juvenile suspects breaking a window on a bus.

The bus driver told the officers that he had picked up the suspects downtown and they

were burning something on the bus, so he kicked them off. The victim told officers she

was sitting in a bus stop when the suspects approached her. One of the suspects took a

book from her bag. The victim did not take it back because she was afraid.

Another suspect pulled the victim’s hair. A bus pulled up and the bus driver intervened.

The suspect got on the bus, as did the bus driver, who closed the door. Another group

tried to get on the bus and kicked the door, causing the window to break.

Officers located the suspect and as the officers approached the suspects, they fled.

Officers were able to catch six of the suspects, two of whom were arrested, one cited and

three admonished.

Auto Break-in, Fraudulent use of Credit Cards:

Golden Gate Park, May 20, 3 p.m.

A San Francisco resident reported that her vehicle was broken into inside

Golden Gate Park at 25th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and her purse, with

credit cards, was stolen. A witness provided a description of the perpetrators, but

the incident was reported too late for officers to search for the suspects.

When the victim checked her bank account balance, it was discovered

that almost $2,000 in fraudulent charges had been made at a local chain drugstore.

How the suspects were able to make the massive purchase at a drugstore without raising

suspicion remains to be seen, according to police sources.

The Richmond Station Investigations Team is currently exploring all possible leads on

the case.

Vehicle violation, no Driver’s License:

May 18, 11:44 a.m., 20th Avenue and Taraval Street

Officers on patrol observed a vehicle that was traveling on the Muni and taxi only

lane on Taraval Street. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on

the driver revealed he did not have a driver’s license. He was cited.

Reckless Driving, Speeding:

May 10, 9:29 p.m., 31st Avenue and Quintara Street

Officers on patrol were stopped at a posted stop sign when they noticed a vehicle

traveling approximately 75 miles-per-hour speed past them before crashing into a

parked vehicle. The driver was cited at the scene.

Battery, Indecent exposure:

May 9, 12:41 p.m., 24th Avenue and Taraval Street

Officers responded to a report that someone was standing in a park completely

nude and loudly screaming. Responding officers spoke to a witness, who reported that

the suspect was sitting in the grass near the children’s park. A second witness was

reported to have confronted the suspect, which caused the suspect to yell and spit at the

victim. The suspect was located and cited.

Violation of Restraining order, Delaying Police officer’s Duties:

May 8, 9:53 a.m., 15th avenue and Taraval Street

An officer responded to a report of a suspect who was aggressively swinging a

mop around. The responding officer located the suspect, who was known from previous

incidents and who was prohibited from being in possession of any type of stick, who

was holding on to a metal pole. The suspect then got on a Muni streetcar, which

the officer followed until its next stop. The officer then arrested the suspect.

Violation of Restraining order:

May 7, 9:23 a.m., Great Highway and Judah Street

Officers were on patrol when they saw a vehicle with a missing front license plate.

They approached the vehicle and observed that the driver appeared to be unconscious.

A computer check of the driver showed county probation conditions as well as an

outstanding warrant for his arrest. The driver was taken into custody and booked.

Possession of narcotics, outstanding warrant:

May 7, 9:38 p.m., 1900 Block of 20th Avenue

Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle passing a stop sign without

making an attempt to stop. The officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and

conducted a records check on the driver, which revealed a felony warrant for his arrest.

A search of the suspect and suspect’s vehicle revealed substances suspected to be cocaine

and marijuana. He was arrested.

Battery:

May 7, 11:40 p.m., 3800 Block of Noriega Street

Officers responded to a report regarding a fight. The victim reported that he

was sitting in a restaurant with a companion when the suspect walked up to him

and punched him three times in the face. The suspect then left the restaurant

with the victim’s companion. Responding officers were unable to locate

the suspect.

Outstanding Warrant:

May 6, 3:38 p.m., 3300 Block of Ortega Street

A report came in to dispatch about a suspicious person in a playground.

The witness reported that the person had been loitering near a children’s play area and

believed that he may have a knife. Responding officers located the suspect

and a computer check revealed that the suspect had two outstanding warrants

for his arrest out of San Luis Obispo. A search did not locate a knife in the suspect’s

possession. The suspect was arrested for the outstanding warrant.

Strong arm Robbery:

May 6, 11:26 a.m., Golden Gate Park

The victim was photographing scenery near Stow Lake when the suspect approached

and pushed the victim to the ground. He then took the camera, tripod and camera bag

from the victim before fleeing to a waiting get-away vehicle.

Officers arrived at the scene but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim

sustained an abrasion on her arm. The investigation is ongoing.

Robbery:

May 4, 9:54 a.m., 1800 Block of Irving Street

A police inspector identified two of the three suspects involved in a March 28

robbery of a business, with the threat of gun use. The two suspects were

located and arrested.

Battery:

May 4, 9:31 a.m., Ninth Avenue and Irving Street

Officers responded to a report of a battery resulting from a road rage incident.

Party one stated that she was cut off by party two while driving and responded

with a rude gesture. Party two pulled over and returned the gesture before getting

out of the vehicle. An argument ensued and party two slapped party one. While

party two was talking away, party one followed and pepper sprayed him.

Party two confirmed the account but denied slapping party one during any

point of the incident. After further investigation, both parties were cited.

Battery:

May 1, 7:48 p.m., Sunset Boulevard and Kirkham Street

The victim reported that she was walking when she observed two suspects

throwing pine cones into the street. The victim remarked that the suspects should

not throw things into the street because it could cause an accident.

The female suspect responded by yelling at the victim and punching her. A

fight ensued. The male suspect broke up the fight

and both suspects fled the scene.
