Alexander Clark Real Estate

Richmond District is Open for Business Facebook Group, and Real Estate is on Pause

Column by Alexandr Clark

I hope everyone out there is doing well, staying healthy, and staying calm during these trying times. It’s not easy, that’s for sure – especially with teenagers home constantly raiding the kitchen out of sheer boredom and devouring everything in sight.

Not much for me to share with regards to real estate these days, since the market has pretty much ground to a halt. Whether values have plummeted is still to be determined, because there is not enough activity to make that determination. The properties that were in contract before shelter-in-place that are still closing do show us promise that buyers haven’t pulled the plug entirely or given up the dream of owning property in San Francisco, which is good, but we have to wait.

If you do have to sell now, you might like to read my recent post about how to sell during Shelter in Place. I’m here to help answer any and all questions you might have. Just ask.

In other news, I was recently browsing some of the articles here on Richmond/Sunset Review, and I couldn’t help but to get a knot in my stomach about this, “Richmond Businesses Suffer During Citywide Shutdown“. Follow that with a buddy who started a Facebook group for the Sunset merchants that are open and still serving, so I figured the Richmond needs the same thing.

Check out the Richmond District is Open for Business Group I created on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/richmonddistrictisopen. The intention being all of us in the community can share together all of the great places still open doing take out, as well as the many smiling faces that make up this great community. Together we will get through this, and together we will be stronger in the end, and a little bit wiser too.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay home.
