Battery: 3300 Block of Taraval Street, Jan. 4, 6:36 p.m.

The victim, a store employee, reported that a known shoplifter had entered the store and walked directly to the alcohol section. 

The victim asked the suspect to leave, but the suspect responded angrily and kicked the victim’s leg before knocking several bottles of wine off a shelf, breaking them. The suspect then walked away.  

Arson of a Vehicle: 2500 Block of Lower Great Highway, Jan. 7, 1:22 a.m.

Officers were on patrol and observed a vehicle that was similar to one that had been involved in numerous burglaries in the area. While following the suspects from a distance, they observed the suspect’s vehicle stopping in front of a second vehicle before immediately speeding off. 

Shortly afterward, the second vehicle was on fire. The officers notified the San Francisco Fire Department. After firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze, officers detained the suspects. 

A search of the suspects revealed illegal narcotics in their possession, and that one of the suspects was on probation. 

After further investigation, it was determined that one of the suspects had set her own vehicle on fire. 

The officers cited one of the suspects, and the second suspect was arrested.  

Assault, Vandalism to Property: 400 Block of Judah Street, Jan. 9, 3:52 p.m.

The victim reported that the suspect, who was not wearing a face covering, had entered the market and was verbally aggressive towards him and several customers. The suspect was told to leave the market. 

The suspect exited the building, then returned about five minutes later. The suspect walked up to the victims and spat at them. The suspect then broke the glass in the market’s front door and yelled at the victim to fight him. 

The victim called the police, and the suspect immediately fled the area. 

Responding officers located and detained the suspect, who was attempting to flee.

After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.  

Assault: 2600 Block of 18th Avenue, Jan. 9, 6:22 p.m.

The victim reported that the suspect, his son, had been allowed to come over and work on his car in the garage. The victim stated that he then noticed that food was missing from the refrigerator and confronted the suspect about it. 

The suspect responded by pushing the victim down and choking him. The victim’s wife pushed the suspect off the victim, and both parties then called 911. 

Responding officers located the suspect, and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Theft: 1500 Block of 15th Avenue, Jan. 18, 5:05 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a theft. 

The victim reported that he had locked his firearms in his safe when he left the location for the night. 

However, when the victim returned, he discovered that the safe was open and his firearms were missing. The victim stated that there were no signs of a forced entry.
