A free all-star concert, dubbed “Surrealistic Summer Solstice 2,” was held at the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park on June 20.
Other Avenues Food Co-op Honored as Sunset District’s Small Business of the Year
Members of the Other Avenues Food Co-op celebrate after the Outer Judah Street business was named “small business
of the year” by District 4 Supervisor Katy Tang.
Changes Coming to 19th Avenue and Quintara
The building would have four stories, with the upper three built over a parking garage. The residential floors would encircle a central courtyard.
Tang Will Not Run Again in Sunset; Vows to Finish Term
Katy Tang, who represents the Sunset and Parkside districts on the SF Board of Supervisors, announced on June 12 that she would not be seeking re-election this November. Tang has promised that she will serve out her term, breaking a pattern that has seen several mayor-appointed supervisors replacing early departures from the District 4 office.

City attorney’s office responds to BRT allegations
The GBRT would strip Geary Boulevard of its traffic islands and trees and replace them with long stretches of bus-only lanes, painted red, along much of the major transit artery for the Richmond. An average of 52,000 passengers use the #38-Geary bus line daily.

Director’s New Film Features Meat Chopping Merchant
Scott, 33, a six-year San Francisco resident who recently moved to the Inner Sunset, says visually she wanted the film to have two qualities: “Vérité, having customers come in and it being very natural. I also wanted to do night shoots to play with shadows, darks and lights – moodiness.”
