Two years ago, in its effort to make JFK Drive attractive as a car-free “promenade” in Golden Gate Park, the City put a cement ping pong table in the middle of the street near Eighth Avenue. The table became quite popular, attracting crowds on the weekends.
On March 8, around 4 p.m., San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) officers arrived at 41st Avenue between Lincoln Way and Irving Street, in response to reports of an “armed adult male subject with a firearm” threatening neighbors, including children, according to an SFPD statement.

Watching the 28-minute, 10-screen film/art installation, “Lessons of the Hour,” by British artist/filmmaker Sir Issac Julien, is not as overwhelming as one might think.
