The San Francisco Recreation and Park Commission is seeking public feedback on the search for its new General Manager. David Chiu, as president of the Board of Supervisors, presided over some of the public hearings that were held from 2012 to 2014 and clearly favored the groups that were in favor of artificial turf fields as a review of the videos of those meetings shows.
A ribbon-cutting marked the completion of the project’s first phase, which added improvements such as a National Fitness Campaign fitness court with exercise equipment; two new picnic tables and benches; new ADA parking at the John Muir Drive lot; new signage along the asphalt trails; and landscaping upgrades including tree maintenance and new tree plantings.
