Letter to the Editor: Richmond District Loses Two More Businesses
This is all too common in the Richmond District and many other San Francisco neighborhoods. We need to do better as a city. It’s time for more action and less rhetoric.

I can personally attest to this, as one thing that I’ve always admired about neighborhood bars like Hockey Haven, is their welcoming nature. It’s evident in the way regulars engage, comfortably expressing their authentic selves each day at the bar with no judgement or harassment from others.

The plan, included in a report commissioned by San Francisco Supervisor Matt Dorsey, emphasizes the value of community-specific media in bringing important information to the City’s diverse communities.

Josh currently remains in a coma after a five-year battle with kidney failure and many mini strokes all over his brain. He and his family desperately need help as they need financial support to help cover their enormous medical expenses and their unstable living situation.

San Francisco voters are disgruntled. Their unease is being manipulated by a moneyed elite with a self-interested agenda. Members of the school board were blamed for the struggles of an education system long starved of resources. A district attorney was held responsible for an uptick in crime that was a consequence of a worsening gap between rich and poor.

As 2023 comes to an end, we have had an interesting year in the real estate market. The question being asked at the end of the year always is: “Where is the real estate market headed?”

City Hall: Connie Chan
I consider it a privilege to serve you. While it is often uncomfortable to confront the power of City Hall, as your district representative I will continue to fight for and demand resources for the Richmond, including increasing resources for public safety, building housing that people can afford and improving city service efficiency.

I am thematically out of order to end the year after trying to make a Christmas metaphor last month. But, since I’m writing this column before Thanksgiving, I want to reflect on things I am thankful for this past year, including being able to highlight our wonderful little neighborhood.
‘History’: The Alexandria: A Message of Hope
The Alexandria Theatre has graced the corner of Geary Boulevard at 18th Avenue since Nov. 26, 1923, when the Levin family opened this once grand movie palace that lit up the Richmond District fog.
