On Aug. 24, at approximately 9:31 p.m., San Francisco Police officers from Richmond District responded to the 3900 block of Balboa Street to investigate a reported robbery and aggravated assault. SFPD Officers arrived on scene and located a 60-year-old male victim laying on the ground and unconscious. Officers summoned medics to the scene who transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts made by hospital medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

On Thursday, June 22, at approximately 2:39 a.m., San Francisco police officers from Richmond Station were dispatched to a residence on the 700 block of 31st Avenue for a report of an aggravated assault in progress. An officer arrived on scene and made contact with an 84-year-old male victim in the doorway of the home. During the interaction, the 37-year-old suspect, who was armed with a knife, advanced toward the officer and the victim from inside the home and an officer involved shooting occurred.

On Wednesday, Feb. 1, at approximately 7:20 p.m. an unknown male entered a Jewish Synagogue located on the 2600 block of Balboa Street, shot a firearm several times then fled the scene. There were no reports of injury or property damage. Officers seized expended casings that were fired, which is being investigated as possible blanks.
On Tuesday, Jan. 31, at approximately 8 p.m., an unknown male entered a theater located on the 3600 block of Balboa Street and brandished a handgun. The subject fled the scene on foot on Balboa Street. There was no report of injury or property damage.

During the same period of time, five victims were found murdered in the Ocean Beach/Golden Gate Park area. As a result of a new investigation, it is believed that Warren Andrews may be the sixth victim of the “Doodler.” On April 27, 1975, Andrews was a victim of an assault at Lands End. Andrews was found unconscious and never regained consciousness dying several weeks later. All six victims are believed to be gay Caucasian males.
