Are you aware that the promoters and owners of Outside Lands (I assume) have somehow convinced the city of San Francisco to pour a permanent concrete slab on a huge portion of the western end of the Polo Field in Golden Gate Park?
In response to St. Ignatius’ request to entirely cancel 3 Sunday markets and reduce another 7 Sunday markets to 1 block, I must point out the catastrophic impact this request will have on the sustainability of the Outer Sunset Farmers Market & Mercantile, as well as the livelihood of the 70-90 farmers, small businesses and organizations in attendance on a given Sunday and the community who have come to depend on the market.
For much of the time that Sunset citizen Olive Hackett-Shaughnessy told stories professionally, she was a single mom, raising three kids and holding down several jobs. Before she became a professional storyteller and made a living by telling stories five days a week, she held 36 different jobs ….
I love Chile rellenos, but I cannot digest the fat they are usually cooked with. And they are often filled with cheese, which my husband cannot tolerate. So, he created this quick to prepare, low fat and cheese-free version. The recipe does contain eggs and uses a lot of vegetables in stuffing the chiles.

It’s great to see voices from both the left and right, from Sandra Lee Fewer to Quintin Kopp. It’s great to see them write in long-form, not just short tweets that lead to half-formed, easily misinterpreted statements.
The flier advertising the Inner Sunset Free Fix-It Fair said it all: “We’ll try to fix anything – except electronics and relationships – for FREE. Bring your wobbly, loose, broken, frayed, splintered, torn, ripped, cracked severed item. If we can’t fix it, we’ll give you twice your money back.”
… we should be ever grateful that his voice is still strong. San Francisco would be infinitely poorer without him.
