Upcoming events at the Presidio include:
• “Fiesta en el Parque – Presidio Sunday Afternoons” Telemundo and NBC Bay Area invite everyone to a family-friendly fiesta in the Presidio. • “Presidio’s National Night Out”
Join the National Park Police, National Park Service and the Presidio Trust for National Night Out. It is a chance for the park emergency personnel and our Presidio neighbors to get to know each other through fun activities and demonstrations. This is a free event for the whole family which includes demonstrations, giveaways and food trucks. Here’s your chance to learn more about fire prevention, child safety and experience the U.S. Park Police Horse and Canine divisions up close. NOONTIME CONCERTS
Noontime Concerts provides FREE live musical performances at Old St. Mary’s Cathedral every Tuesday at lunchtime as “San Francisco’s musical lunch break.” Noontime Concerts, a charitable educational institution, is dedicated to providing an accessible means for the public to experience, enjoy and learn about and appreciate the presentation of high-quality classical music performances for free on Tuesdays. PLANNING ASSOCIATION FOR THE RICHMOND
Planning Association for the Richmond will hold its next general membership meeting on July 19, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Richmond Recreation Center, 251 18th Ave., between Clement and California streets. There will be presentations about homelessness and homeless support services by various city agencies. There will also be time for questions and answers and discussion. Everyone is welcome. RADIO SAILING FUN DAY
Chart a course for Spreckels Lake on Saturday, July 15, when the SF Model Yacht Club (SFMYC) will host a demonstration of radio-controlled model sailboat racing. “The boats are far from toys and sail just like full-size sailboats,” said Robert Weaver, commodore of SFMYC. Spectators will be treated to a series of handicap races between club members and will have opportunities to meet and talk with members of the club and to sail boats themselves with a bit of individual instruction. The event starts at 1 p.m. and will conclude around 3 p.m. Free.
