Police Blotter: Richmond District

Robbery with a Gun: 200 Block of 18th Avenue, April 2, 10:05 p.m.

Richmond Station officers responded to a call of a robbery.

A juvenile victim and his friend were about to smoke a cigarette when the suspect approached and asked for a light and said he knew them from somewhere. The unknown suspect demanded the victim’s belongings and slapped the victim’s friend.

When the victim tried to run away, the suspect pushed him to the ground, pointed a firearm at the victim and struck him in the face with the firearm.

The suspect stole the victim’s bag and his friend’s jacket, then fled the area.

The victim was treated at the scene by medics for a cut above his eye and released to his father on scene.

No arrests have been made.

Hit and Run Traffic Collision: Geary Boulevard and Third Avenue, April 4, 1:56 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of a hit and run traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Officers found a victim in the intersection with moderate injuries. Witnesses stated the driver of the vehicle fled on foot.

Officers located the driver and placed her into custody without incident.

The victim was transported to a hospital.

Attempted Hot Prowl Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools: 700 Block of Sixth Avenue, April 20, 5:56 p.m.

Richmond Station officers responded to a report of a known suspect attempting to break into the back entrance of a home.

Arriving officers met with the victim, who stated the suspect was at the back door of her residence actively attempting to gain entry without her permission. The victim later stated she had returned home from a grocery store and observed an unknown subject’s arm protruding through the “doggy door” with a screwdriver in the suspect’s hand.

Officers went to the back door and observed a “doggy door” with a screwdriver placed on the floor on the interior of the house. Officers opened the door and observed the suspect standing directly outside the locked door.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Grand Theft: Sixth Avenue and California Street, April 19, 5:53 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of an active fire and a grand theft.

The victim said he observed a recycling bin on fire and was in the process of calling the fire in to 911 Dispatch. While he was on the phone with 911, an unknown suspect approached and stole the victim’s unicycle and rode northbound on Sixth Avenue toward Cornwall Street.

Responding officers observed the suspect disembark the stolen unicycle and discard it on the west sidewalk of Sixth Avenue prior to attempting to escape on foot.

Additional SFPD units arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody.

The suspect admitted to taking the unicycle without permission and admitted it was a dumb thing to do.

The victim claimed the motorized unicycle was valued at approximately $2,100.

The suspect was booked for grand theft. No injuries to any parties werereported.

The recycling bin fire was extinguished by SFFD, however no arson suspects were located.
