Assault: 1200 Block of 30th Avenue, May 1, 9:53 a.m.
The victim was putting out the garbage when an unknown suspect hit her on the head with a stick. The suspect hit the victim a second time in the face and walked away from the scene.
Attempted Burglary, Vandalism: 3300 Block of Irving Street, May 1, 7:40 p.m.
Plainclothes officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary.
A witness informed officers she heard the sound of sawing. When she looked outside, she observed a suspect attempting to gain entry to a residence by sawing through the lock and metal gate.
The suspect subsequently fled the scene.
The witness provided officers with security footage of the incident. Using FLOCK (license plate reader) cameras, the plainclothes officers located the suspect’s vehicle. They maintained surveillance until the suspect returned and then took him into custody.
A search of the vehicle revealed items that may have been stolen from other locations.
The suspect was arrested.
Stunt Show: Lawton Street and 42nd Avenue, May 4, 12:34 p.m.
Officers responded to a report of numerous vehicles in an active sideshow.
Officers deployed a drone, which captured the incident. Investigators will use the video to identify the drivers and vehicles.
The vehicles can be towed later.
Assault: 1200 Block of La Playa Street, May 6, 5:29 p.m.
The victim told officers he was sitting in his parked vehicle inside the apartment complex when the suspect’s vehicle rear-ended it, causing minor scratches.
The victim said the suspect refused to exchange information. The suspect said he needed to leave, and the victim stood before the vehicle. The suspect drove forward and hit the victim.
The suspect was later arrested.
Graffiti, Hate Crime: 2500 Block of 25th Avenue, May 12, 9:39 a.m.
The victim told officers that he saw swastika graffiti on school grounds.
Theft, Threats: 1900 Block of 30th Avenue, May 12, 1:02 p.m.
The victim told the responding officer she had been having issues with her roommate, the suspect. The victim said the suspect entered her locked room and took her property and threatened to harm her.
Traffic Violation, Outstanding Warrant, Possession of a Firearm: Noriega Street and 33rd Avenue, May 13, 3:52 a.m.
Officers were on patrol when they saw a vehicle failing to completely stop at a stop sign.
Officers conducted a traffic stop. A computer check revealed the driver had his driver’s license suspended and a warrant for arrest.
Further investigation revealed a firearm and narcotics.
The driver was arrested.
Battery, Brandishing a Weapon: Lincoln Way and 10th Avenue, May 15, 6:38 p.m.
The victim told officers he was walking his dog when he confronted three suspects for littering.
The victim and the suspects got into a verbal altercation, and one of the suspects advanced toward the victim. The victim defended himself by saying he had a knife. One of the suspects lifted his shirt, brandishing a gun.
As the victim walked away, one of the suspects hit the victim on the head with a toy gun and slapped him.
Officers located the suspects. One was cited at the scene, another was cited at the juvenile center, and the third suspect fled the scene.
Officers did not locate the firearm.
Traffic Violation, Driving While Under the Influence: Noriega Street and 28th Avenue, May 15, 1:11 a.m.
Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign. The officers conducted a traffic stop.
The driver had all of the obvious signs of being intoxicated. Officers administered numerous tests to the driver, which he failed.
The driver was arrested.
Graffiti, Outstanding Warrant: 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard, May 17, 1:03 a.m.
Officers were on patrol when they observed a suspect holding a spray paint can, spraying a black tarp at a construction site.
The suspect was detained, and a computer check revealed a warrant for his arrest.
The suspect was arrested.
Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Burglary Tools, Outstanding Warrant: 100 Block of JFK Drive, May 18, 4:45 p.m.
Park Station officers responded to a report of a burglary at the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. A safe containing U.S. currency had been stolen from the premise.
While conducting their investigation, park rangers notified the officers that possible suspects were detained at the Lands End Trail with the stolen items in their possession.
Officers went to the Lands End Trail where they positively identified the stolen safe as belonging to the Conservatory of Flowers.
Officers arrested the three suspects.
Fire: 19th Avenue and Wawona Street, May 24, 1:36 a.m.
Park rangers located a burning lawn chair in a fire pit.
They reported hearing juveniles running away from the area.
Battery: 2000 Block of Irving Street, May 25, 9:18 a.m.
The victim was working at a restaurant counter when the suspect, who was waiting to pick up a door delivery order, became agitated because he felt he was being ignored. The victim informed the suspect that the order was not ready.
The suspect picked up some items from the counter and threw them in the victim’s direction.
A customer attempted to intervene and was pushed as the suspect exited the store.
Burglary: 1500 Block of Funston Avenue, May 28, 12:31 a.m.
The victim told officers she heard the sound of drilling and grinding coming from her garage door. She realized that someone was attempting to break into her home.
The victim called 911 and, while watching her security camera, saw someone shining a flashlight into her garage. Officers arrived and located the suspect.
After further investigation and collection of evidence, the suspect was arrested. The suspect may also be connected to three prior burglaries.
Vandalism to Vehicle: Unit Block of West Portal Avenue, May 29, 4:13 p.m.
Officers returned to their vehicle and were told by a witness that a suspect had graffitied their patrol car. The witness provided officers with the suspect’s description.
Responding officers searched the area and located the suspect.
After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
