Police Blotter: Sunset District

Assault: Judah Street and 46th Avenue, Oct. 2, 4:18 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of an assault.

Upon their arrival, the suspect had already fled the scene. However, while officers were interviewing the victim, the suspect returned.

Officers attempted to place the suspect in handcuffs, but the suspect resisted. After a few minutes, the officers were able to detain the suspect. The suspect then provided a false name to the officers.

The victim told officers the suspect had a history of shoplifting. When the victim confronted the suspect outside the store, the suspect punched the victim and brandished a hammer.

After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Driving While Under the Influence: Pacheco Street and 19th Avenue, Oct. 3, 12:51 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated driver.

The witness told officers the driver was swerving and had hit a curb, causing a tire to pop. The driver then went to the gas station to add air.

Officers arrived and determined that the driver was intoxicated.

The driver was cited.

Robbery: 1700 Block of 40th Avenue, Oct. 9, 10:47 a.m.

The victim was walking when a vehicle pulled up next to him.

A suspect exited the passenger seat and began patting him down. The victim attempted to get away, but the suspect managed to take his wallet, removed some cash and returned the wallet.

Another suspect then pushed the victim away from the vehicle, causing him to fall.

The suspects then fled the area.

Burglary, Outstanding Warrant: 2800 Block of Vicente Street, Oct. 11, 6:27 p.m.

Witness reported seeing the suspect removing several canned foods from a market and walking out without attempting to pay.

The suspect then walked into a house. The suspect walked out of the house with two bags. Officers located the suspect. A computer check revealed a warrant for the suspect’s arrest.

The suspect was arrested for the warrant and burglary.

Driving While Under the Influence, Traffic Violation: Lincoln Way and Ninth Avenue, Oct. 11, 1:50 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of a driver who was passed out in a vehicle in the middle of the street. The vehicle was on and in drive.

The officer contacted the driver, who was displaying signs of impairment.

The driver performed some tests, which she failed.

After further investigation, the driver was arrested.

Outstanding Warrant, Possession of Narcotics: Noriega Street and 31st Avenue, Oct. 15, 5:35 p.m.

Officers were made aware that a known person had a warrant for his arrest.

Officers confirmed the warrant and went to the location where he frequents the most. Officers located the person, and, during the arrest search, located a methamphetamine pipe.

The subject was arrested.

Possession of Loaded Firearm in Vehicle: Kezar Stadium Parking Lot, Oct. 17, 7:10 p.m.

Park Station officers assigned to the Community Violence Reduction Team (CVRT) were monitoring the social media account of a known member of a street gang. While observing the suspect’s social media live stream, officers observed a firearm inside the vehicle the suspect was driving.

With the assistance of Real Time Investigation Center (RTIC), officers located the vehicle parked in the parking lot adjacent to Kezar Stadium and located two suspects inside the stadium which was hosting a high school football game.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., a high school teacher called 911 to report a fight at the football game. Park Station officers responded and approached a group where the two suspects were located. The two suspects, and three other subjects, distanced themselves from the group and began walking toward the exit. As CVRT officers moved to apprehend the suspects, they began to flee on foot.

Both were apprehended without further incident. Firearms were seized in their vicinities.

A third suspect was detained simultaneously. Officers seized a firearm from the third suspect’s pocket.

All three suspects were booked on firearms charges.

Battery, Vandalism: 3200 Block of Ortega Street, Oct. 21. 6:57 p.m.

The victim told officers he and his wife were walking their dog when they observed three suspects graffitiing property inside the park.

The victim confronted the suspects and started filming them. One of the suspects got angry and punched the victim.

The suspects fled the scene.
