Sex Offender Failure to Register, Annual Violation, Theft, Lost Property, Petty Theft: 600 Block of 34th Avenue, June 26, 5:47 p.m.

Officers responded to the 600 block of 34th Avenue in regard to a male standing on the sidewalk masturbating in public. Officers located a subject matching the description given by the caller. Unfortunately, the caller had left the area and officers were unable to obtain a statement as what the subject was doing. A records check revealed the subject was out of compliance of his sex offender registration requirements. The subject was also in possession of an Amazon package that did not belong to him. The subject was booked for being out of compliance and possession of stolen property.

Three Alarm Fire: 2800 Block of California Street, June 29

The San Francisco Fire Department responded in regard to a single-alarm fire. The structure on fire was the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The church was under construction at the time and several construction workers were able to safely evacuate the building. Unfortunately, the fire quickly engulfed the building and escalated to a third alarm. Multiple Fire apparatus and personnel responded to the location and worked to contain and extinguish the fire. As a precaution, SFPD and SFFD personnel evacuated the neighboring buildings and residences. Due to the smoke, an emergency shelter-in-place order was placed. The fire was elevated to four-alarms and additional Fire apparatus were called to the scene and several streets were closed to protect the high-pressure hoses that were ran across several intersections from being ran over by vehicles. The Red Cross also responded to assist the residents who were displaced by the fire and to provide emotional support to the church congregation. SFFD firefighters were able to bring the fire under control after several hours. Firefighters remained on-scene overnight to monitor hotspots and to ensure the blaze did not reignite. Fortunately, no civilians or fire personnel sustained any injuries, however the restaurant next door sustained significant water damage.The cause of the fire is still under investigation by both the SFFD and SFPD Arson TASK Force.

Burglary, Hot Prowl, Forcible Entry: 300 Block of 29th Avenue, June 29, 2:58 a.m.

Richmond Station Officers responded in regard to a hot prowl burglary. Upon their arrival, they met with the victim who told officers they were awakened by a loud banging sound at the front door of their residence. The victim went downstairs and discovered the front door was ajar and the door frame had been damaged. The victim took inventory of his property and discovered several items were stolen. A search of the area did not reveal any suspects or stolen items. The incident was forwarded to the SFPD Burglary investigation unit, who will be conducting the follow-up investigation.

Weapon, Deadly, Imitation or laser Scope, Exhibiting; Warrant Arrest; Resisting, Delaying or Obstructing Peace Officer Duties; Narcotics Paraphernalia: Intersection of Buena Vista and Duboce avenues, July 23, 5:15 p.m.

Officers responded to the vicinity of Buena Vista Avenue East and Duboce Avenue for a report of a subject brandishing a knife. Per their investigation, the victim was walking on a path inside Buena Vista Park when the suspect walked towards him, brandished a knife and pointed it at him. Fearing for his safety, the victim fled the immediate area and called 911. Per the victim, the suspect has assaulted and threatened them in past incidents and provided officers with the prior incident case numbers. Officers canvassed the immediate area, and spotted and arrested the suspect without incident. The suspect was charged for brandishing a knife, resisting and delaying, possession of drug paraphernalia and a local warrant.
