It has been a pleasure to celebrate the Autumn Moon Festival with you all this past month, in both the Richmond and Sunset districts. Congratulations to those organizers on fantastic events throughout the month of September.
Speaking with both long-time readers and folks who are just discovering the papers is always a joy of mine, and of our team. It is so valuable to hear your insight into the community and your thoughts on the publications. We appreciate everyone who comes to say “hi,” and are especially grateful for those who buy a tote bag or coffee mug to support the work we’re doing to help ensure this community resource will stay free for years to come.
This month, we are partnering with SF Good Neighbor Week and hosting a community listening session. Come out to La Promenade Cafe (3643 Balboa St. near 38th Avenue) in the Outer Richmond from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 3. We’d love to treat you to a coffee and get the chance to meet more of you in person!
We’ll also be at the Clement Street Art Fair on Saturday, Oct. 17 from noon – 5 p.m. You can find more information about the event and the talented artists you’ll see at clementstreetsf.com. We are so fortunate to be here on the west side, with so many free, community events happening.
Speaking of free events, we hope you enjoy a beautiful weekend of music at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, which returns to Golden Gate Park the first week of October for its 26th year.
I know I’m looking forward to performances by Mavis Staples, Miko Marks and Kam Franklin.
Vote by Nov. 3
A way to support your community is by voting! Mail-in ballots will be distributed starting Oct. 5. Throughout this issue, you’ll find election features and commentaries that we hope will provide insight as you make your voting determinations. Regardless of whom or what you vote for, be sure to make your voice heard in this very influential election. The last day to register online to vote, and be able to participate in this election is Monday, Oct. 19.
